About the role

Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, we became an independent company in 2014 and are now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

Due to the continued evolvement and expansion of our Lead Design Consulting Team, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Design Manager to help lead the project, financial, QA/QC, and technical management and delivery of our multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with our technical experts and design partners. This role is key to our overall business ambition to be recognised by our clients as the best in the data centre market.

Working closely with our technical colleagues, this role will be responsible for assisting on managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assisting on the ongoing development and growth of the business as a whole, whilst providing sound technical, design, and contract management support.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates project management activities including resources allocation, equipment, and information
  • Supports the Project Lead in building strong partnerships with clients and stakeholders
  • Assists on preparing and maintaining project documents such as Project Directory, Risk Register, and Project Execution Plan
  • Organises and facilitates workshops and meetings, ensuring clear procedures and timely distribution of meeting minutes
  • Supports the Project Lead on resolving technical difficulties and other issues, escalating when necessary
  • Ensures compliance with contract documents by coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, and stakeholders
  • Reviews and monitors master schedule, comparing it to actual progress especially the milestone activities
  • Ensures client needs are met as the project progresses
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or equivalent
  • Additional post-graduate qualifications are a plus
  • 4 to 7 years of working experience including at least 2 years of experience in project management, managing project deliverables and costs
  • Understanding of Project Management principles in coordinating and presenting to clients and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with BIM for coordination purposes, and understanding of managing information attributes
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with project teams.
  • Excellent in oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Knowledge in planning software like Primavera P6 and MS Project is advantageous
