About the role

Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, we became an independent company in 2014 and are now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

As a business, our ambition is to be a leading global MEP consultancy and as a purposeful employer, we’re looking for an experienced professional specialising in LEED.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer or Associate Director, this role will work in collaboration with local and global team to meet the objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and managing projects, and must have a LEED AP with experience in achieving LEED certification on projects.

We have ambitious growth plans, so key priorities will include:

  • Developing skills, knowledge, and experience in mechanical services and other disciplines

This is a hands-on role, working closely with several global teams alongside local leaders and engineering teams to ensure the required level of resource is in place to deliver the objectives and KPI’s of projects.

Your recommendations, conversations, and plans are based on a thorough understanding of both internal and external data and insights. By maintaining close proximity to this information, we aim to offer the best practice support to our teams.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the LEED certification process on projects
  • Compiles and issues Feasibility Studies and Energy Reports
  • Assists with compiling marketing material relating to sustainability
  • Does marketing and technical research in the areas of renewable energy and other sustainability matters
  • Represents the company in technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors
  • Validates Graduate Engineers’ input into renewable energy reports and calculations
  • Trains junior engineers
  • Prepares and presents technical briefings to clients and staff
  • Pursues CPD Programme, including attending training courses and seminars; this should include improving knowledge of M&E engineering principles and applications
  • Familiarises fee bids and other commercial aspects of the company including assistance with compiling fee proposals
  • Enhances skills in IES modelling to be able to generate outputs for energy loads and compliance with building regulations
Qualifications
  • HND or degree qualified, or equivalent experience
  • Should be a LEED AP with experience of achieving LEED certification on projects
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work with deadlines
