Black & White was appointed as the lead design consultant responsible for the design of the 20 MW data centre campus in Dubai, from RIBA Design 2 through to RIBA Stage 4. The facility is Uptime Tier 3-certified and features multiple data halls with flexible IT load and cooling coverage. An ancillary support/office building was also included. Black & White’s appointment was made by a general contractor, working for the client under a design and build arrangement. The project included several prefabricated module assemblies and required a high degree of upfront planning and coordination. The design and construction were completed in approximately 18 months.
